Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York Spotlight—The Luminary: An otherworldly wine cellar and bar design, brought down to earth by Atelier CV’s Christine Zeqiri and Valerie Goldin-Remm. “Inspired by the astronomical definition of a celestial body that emits light, The Luminary transforms our space into a self-radiating environment that feels illuminated from within,” the designers explain. Sumptuous ripple fold drapery with a liquid sheen “mimics the movement and fluidity of celestial light. As natural light catches the material, it reflects a gentle glow that reinforces our theme while adding a rich, touchable layer of luxury.”

Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York Spotlight—In the Meantime: Wrapped in an envelope of yellow silk drapery (made by B&J Fabrics and fabricated by The Shade Store), the space that typically houses the townhome’s gym was reenvisioned by New York’s Studio Armando Aguirre as an intentional, multi-purpose space. “Would you like to flip through an art monograph (or scroll on your phone) for several hours on a lazy weekend afternoon? Are you waiting for the rain to stop before going outside for a cigarette? Would you prefer to enjoy a meal in a room of the house that isn’t specifically meant for dining? Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York Spotlight—Dressing Room: “In our space, the full-height drapery panels and portiere curtains not only enhance the architecture but are used to create intimacy and privacy,” explain Carrier & Company’s Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller. “Suspended from a sleek ceiling-mounted track, the drapery reinforces the room’s modern lines while adding softness, warmth, and privacy. And the subtle ikat weave, from our new collection with Lee Jofa, has a watercolor-like quality that brings quiet depth to the space. It’s a room designed not simply for dressing, but for living artfully.”

Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York Spotlight—A Love Letter: Isn’t it lovely? Designed by Kylie K. Bass of NYC-based KKB Interiors, A Love Letter is “more than a bedroom. [It’s] an expression of gratitude: for the artisans whose work endures, for the generations who came before us, and for the belief that the most meaningful homes are shaped thoughtfully over time.” Shaped by the family and future heirlooms of an imagined young girl, the space features woven Roman shades softly filtering the natural light, paired with full-length drapery for added movement and romance. “Ultimately,” says Bass, “[my design is] a love letter to home.”

Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York Spotlight— The Art of Gathering: In the hands of Marmol Radziner’s Matt Jackson, the 189-year-old Georgian townhouse’s foyer is transformed into a formal dining room that feels intentionally restrained, natural, and tactile—featuring a backdrop of ripple-fold linen drapery by The Shade Store. “The [drapes] introduce a sense of softness and rhythm that complement the room’s more solid materials,” says Radziner. “Running continuously along the perimeter, [they] frame the space with texture, filter daylight, and reinforce the calm, understated palette.”
