Five months ago, I was sitting in a hospital bed with a broken elbow in one arm and a torn TFCC in the other, in a different country, just six days before Cape Epic, the biggest racing opportunity of my career. And it wasn’t even from doing something bike-related—an inherently risky part of this sport. It was an electric scooter crash on the way home from the grocery store. Devastated was an understatement…staying positive felt impossible. A silver lining wasn’t even in my periphery. The mental battles I’ve fought over the last five months have been really hard. After what felt like a year of constant setbacks I kept having to pivot, reframe, find new goals. There was never any guarantee that continuing to show up was going to lead me back here I just knew I wasn’t ready to stop trying. I think that’s part of why the weight of winning Leadville after everything it took to get here feels so heavy. I’m still processing it, and I think I probably will be for a while. For now, I just want to thank the people who never stopped believing when I was having a hard time doing it myself. That belief propelled me forward, and I know it will continue to propel me for the rest of my career. And @kateplusfate … turns out you called it. 🥹🥹🥹 🎥🎥: @fjimz10
