The Washington Coast! 😌 A classic summer day here in Washington. This video may be the most accurate representation of the PNW weather that I have ever recorded! 😂 The weather was looking absolutely beautiful.. Until the very exact moment and day that we set out for this excursion.. of course.. as it always goes, lol. As we drove the many hours to get out to this trailhead, a large and nasty weather system rolled in. The blue skies were eaten up by dark and gloomy clouds and by the time we made it to the trail, and were hoisting our offensively heavy packs onto our extremely massive and strong backs, it was fully raining... In all honesty, and fullest transparency, I was this close (🤏🏻) to just hucking my pack back into the car and driving back into town and spend the day burying my sorrows with some freshly baked donuts. But.. we decided to brave the rain and set out. The first 3 miles of the trail is through thick forest, and so we had natural coverage from the rain, so we just hoped that once we made it to the beach, the bad weather will have maybe passed over by then. But of course.. once we made it to the beach, the weather was even worse than when we left the car. 😂 it was pouring sideways. We stood out on the beach for 7 seconds and got soaked. Let alone spending the night out there.. as I watched my sleeping bag getting progressively wetter and wetter, I remember thinking.. I gotta sleep inside this thing.. it's dripping water.. I am royally screwed. Or so I thought.. We nestled into some trees and took cover from the rain and gave it just 30 more mins. Then boom. PNW weather at its finest. The clouds broke open and the sun shined back through and was smooching our faces. So we pressed onward and ended up having one of the most epic backpacking trips ever. 😌 moral of the story. PNW has a personality disorder. 😂 I was anticipating a sunny beach getaway. Which is why I was repping my stylish @shadyrays But, then, they honestly helped me keep the rain out of my eyes. I’d say that prepping and operating the boat for a day on the water has become 90% relaxing and 10% work/stress. And that is a huge improvement from the beginning of the season with a toddler! Shady Rays polarization and Colorush make me feel put together, and make my views clear for operating the water. Colorush is just one of those things you don’t know how cool it is til you try it on! Assigning tasks amongst mom and dad has definitely gotten us in a system that became efficient and effective. Even at the end of the day, I’m on toddler duty and dad covers the boat. This just works for us. He’d rather do all the loading/ unloading knowing I have full responsibility of the kiddo so he can get his part done. #boatday #boatingwithkids #boatstuff

Shotgun Shells Recipe! 🔥 Or Pig Shots! 🤣 ooops 🤦‍♂️ Quick, easy, and delicious! 🙌 This was a first for me and I’ll be honest, they might be my new favorite appetizer of all time! Everyone loved them! And as always, @shadyrays keeping me 😎 cool! —— Recipe —— 1. Slice your andouille sausage into 1/4” pieces 2. Slice your Thick Cut Bacon in half and wrap them around the sausage. 3. Pin the bacon to the sausage with a toothpick and season with your favorite bbq rub! I used @meatchurch Fajita 4. Throw your pig shots in your @traegergrills at 275 degrees for 1 hour. 5. In a bowl, mix one block of cream cheese with Shredded cheddar Cheese 🧀 and add a little more bbq seasoning 6. Put this mixture in a ziplock bag and cut the end with scissors so you can add it to your pig shots. 7. Add the cream cheese spread into the pig shots and top with a sliced jalapeño. 8. Throw them back in the smoker until the bacon gets crispy! 9. Top with Some @tryfirenectar Hot Honey and thank me later! To most people, an Ironman finish line is the accomplishment. What they saw was a few seconds of celebration. A medal around my neck. A smile as I crossed the line. What I saw was every early alarm, every lonely mile, every ride into the wind, every lap in the pool, every workout I wanted to skip, every doubt I had to outrun, every sacrifice no one noticed, and every moment I chose to keep going anyway. Success has a way of hiding the work that created it. People celebrate the finish line because it’s visible. But the real victory happened long before race day, in the mornings no one saw, the miles no one counted, the setbacks I had to overcome, and the countless decisions to show up even when quitting would’ve been easier. Sometimes you have to see things through a different lens. The finish line wasn’t the story. It was the proof that the story happened. Everyone will see the medal. I’ll always see the thousands of moments that made earning it possible.
