The Escalante has always been the choice for runners who want to feel the road without sacrificing comfort, and the Altra Escalante 5 makes that case more convincingly than ever. A new versatile engineered knit upper brings added stretch to the fit, moving naturally with your foot through every phase of your stride. The Altra EGO midsole keeps the ride responsive and grounded, staying true to the zero-drop geometry Altra is built on. Available at select Fleet Feet stores and fleetfeet.com.

Here’s your first look at the all-new Nike Pegasus Plus 2 — featuring a curved Air Zoom unit in the forefoot for added propulsion and a lightweight, bouncy ZoomX midsole. The curved Air Zoom unit is designed to create a smoother, more propulsive ride underfoot. Think of it like the curved plate in a racing shoe: the shape helps deliver a similar rolling, forward-driving sensation with every stride. Gram for gram and dollar for dollar, Nike is aiming to make the Pegasus Plus 2 its most responsive daily trainer yet. Coming September 1.

These photos capture @fleetfeet stores through the 1980s and 90s. Sally Edwards and Elizabeth Jansen opened the brand's first location in Sacramento in 1976, before either had any retail experience. Even then, a Fleet Feet store was more than a place to buy shoes. Local runners gathered there for group runs and training advice, turning it into a kind of clubhouse. That model spread through the 80s and 90s as the brand expanded beyond Sacramento, growing into a network of locally owned stores built on fit and training rather than volume. The stores look different today, but the format has not changed. Personalized fitting and community programming remain the core of every Fleet Feet location. 📸 Photos via @fleetfeet #running #fleetfeet #vintage

Every great set starts with the right selection. So does every great run. More intention. Better choices. Less guessing. That’s why finding the right running shoes became part of BLAIR’s process. 📸: JON ORGAZ
